Ryu is a painted multi-level wooden dragon sculpture inspired by traditional japanese art. The background, clouds, and dragon are all separate levels layered upon eachother to retain a 2D and 3D look. In making this sculpture I learned how to use a bandsaw and jigsaw to cut out the unique shapes of each wooden layer. It was completed as our final project in Foundations of Art 2. Dimensions are estimated.
