It's a... girl?
This piece is a ceramics work made from white stoneware and given a cold finish with acrylic paint and glitter. It is a bodily vessel resembling both genitalia and a pitcher that would "pour" into itself if it were functional. This work is made to be a representation of the questioning, exploration, and dysphoria brought on by gender identity. It shows various genitalia as a common symbol for the different genders, with the whole of the piece painted and glittered gold. There are dark red and glittered slashes within the breasts sprinkled across the piece, two representations of penises either perfectly fine or bleeding. The genitalia being both "hurt" and left alone in different aspects is a representation of the body euphoria and dysphoria one experiences when finding what makes them comfortable and or having to struggle through what doesn't. This piece is painted black and glittered within the vessel to express a dramatic and doomed emotion while still allowing for the elegance of the exploration to remain.
