Statement
Elizabeth Elder is a multidisciplinary artist, working in ceramic, textile, pen, paint, printmaking, and photography. Influenced by themes of the social condition, the environment and community, Elder frequently incorporates natural elements, organic shapes, and abstract forms in her works. Elder uses her art practice to explore and experiment with the curious objects in our communities. As she investigates our relationships to each other and our environment, Elder hopes to become more engaged with our diverse and inextricably connected world in this era of heads down disconnectedness. Elder is questioning the universe, experimenting with storytelling, exploring materials, and mending a hole in our damaged world.
