Statement

The process of building with my hands continues to ground me when I need it most. My passion for clay is formed through the sense of peace and therapy that I experience while working with it, and I want to provide others with the same therapeutic journey. I typically work with white and color-stained porcelain clay that I present in various forms of installation.

The force of my inspiration almost goes beyond compelling to the point of necessity. My ceramic pieces are meant to help my audience, and me, feel something that we forgot was there. Instead of trying to convey a clear message for the viewers, I prefer leaving interpretation of my pieces up to each individual. For me, these works create an environment of nostalgia, uncertainty, and serenity all at once. Others may see these structures and experience different emotions, and that’s okay.
